Team Members

Carter is a Nurse Leader with Kaiser Roseville Medical Center, and Fellow of the Inagural Advocacy Institute of American Nursing Association, California. His route into the nursing profession has taken him through all levels of the California education system. After completing college athletics, Todd obtained an AA degree at the Junior College level in Merced, CA, then transferred to Sacramento State University where he was a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health & Safety. He is a graduate of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing's Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership and Nursing at UC Davis where he founded and grew the Capitol City Black Nurses Association (CCBNA). The Sacramento Business Journal and the National Black Nurses Association have both recognized him as a 40 Under 40 Award Honoree.

Didra began her nursing career as a student extern at UC Davis Health in 2001. She has had the opportunity to work in several different specialty areas and currently serves as an Assistant Nurse Manager on a Medical Telemetry Unit. Didra earned an Associates in Science Nursing degree in 2002 from Sacramento City College, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Sacramento State University in 2015, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Health Care Management at Western Governors University. As a nurse leader, her goal to make a difference in her community through outreach and volunteer opportunities.

DaJanae Gresham-Ryder is from Stockton, California, and attended Cesar Chavez High
School. As a high school student, DaJanae enrolled in the healthcare careers track and served as a volunteer tutor for students with special needs. She first became interested in nursing after witnessing her grandmother serving as a caregiver for her great-grandmother. Before obtaining a B.S.N from California State University, East Bay, in 2019, DaJanae served one year in the US military. DaJanae currently serves as a Clinical Nurse II for UC Davis Medical Center, Trauma One hospital in Northern California. She recently returned to her California State alma-mater to pursue graduate education in Nursing Leadership and Administration, where she currently serves as a class representative. As a newly appointed Vice President of Capitol City Black Nurses Association, DaJanae hopes to strengthen her leadership skills while advocating to improve the diversity and equity of healthcare workers. As an emerging nurse leader, her goal is to decrease workplace oppression for healthcare workers of color.

Originally from Oceanside, Charde moved to Sacramento with her family in 1999 and attended Valley High School. Her interest in healthcare led her to join the school’s Health Tech Academy where she was exposed to the nursing profession. She attended Sacramento City College where she obtained a degree in Nutrition and pre- allied health professions, eventually choosing a private college to complete a Vocational Nurse licensure program. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Charde has had the opportunity to work in Long-Term care, post acute care and in public health as a school nurse where she currently works. She hopes to inspire people of color to pursue careers in healthcare through education, knowledge and leadership. As a member of CCBNA she represents a community that aims to advocate for the need of nurses and enhance the nursing educational pipeline.
