Capitol City Black Nurses Association Student Scholarship

CCBNA has created a scholarship for current nursing students who show promise and dedication in the arena of community health upon submission. Student selection is competitive and may range from Licensed Vocational Nursing students to Master's prepared nursing students. This fund is created for the purpose of mitigating financial hardship and to recognize the phenomenal community service work that many African American students complete.

In honor of Dr. Ackerman-Barger, CCBNA is recognizing her career dedicated to diversity and inclusion in higher level nursing education. Dr. Ackerman-Barger is a founding member of CCBNA and a huge catalyst in the creation of our organization. This scholarship is for graduate level nurses (i.e. MSc, NP, PhD) who are conducting or
presenting nursing research that has a focus/aim on African American health and the disparities that exist in the community.
